Originally from Northern California, Avery is currently based in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended the College of Charleston, where she earned degrees in Studio Art, Historic Preservation, and Business. She began her professional career in interior design, where she fell in love with the creative process- particularly the interplay of color, textiles, and materials.
Avery eventually left interior design to pursue her passion for visual art. Inspired by history, architecture, and dance, she creates work that reflects both her technical training and her love for storytelling. Her choice of medium shifts fluidly from piece to piece, often incorporating graphite, charcoal, acrylic, gouache, ink, and oil paint on both canvas and paper.
She founded The Alchemist’s House as a creative brand designed to evolve alongside her ever-expanding interests and passions, serving as a home for all of her artistic pursuits.
